What does the Lord say? "If you want liberation then go to the Gnani Purush (Self-realized One who can help others attain Self-realization) and if you want happiness in worldly life then serve your mother, father and Guru (teacher). In fact, in serving your parents, it is possible to attain tremendous happiness!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanAll the properties of the Self are aguru-laghu by nature. They do not increase nor do they decrease. Anger-pride-deceit-greed increase and decrease by nature. The Self has the property called parmanand (absolute bliss). It does not increase in the slightest, nor does it decrease! It has the property called Gnan (Knowledge). It has the property called Darshan (Vision)...these do not increase nor do they decrease!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf a person has someone who can scold him, then he can attain moksha (liberation). If there is no one to scold him, then one is dwelling in swachchhand (to follow one’s own intellect in spiritual matters). To encounter a living Self-realized spiritual teacher (Sadguru) verily means coming into connection with someone who will scold [you]!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe guru who helps one attain freedom from worldly life is a true Guru. Otherwise, there are many other gurus, but of what use are they? For that matter, even if you want to go from here to the station, you need to make someone who knows the way there, a guru.
Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan[The egoist] Guru is heavy. There is this ocean of worldly life; and on top of that, in that [boat], you have a guru who is heavy [egoist]. Then again, you relied on him, so you sink, at once!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanHow can one become a guru without a master key? ‘We’ Gnanis give the master key. Thereafter, one will not sink.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanMake the One who does not have even the slightest of selfishness in Him, your Guru. Have you found anyone who is like that?
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe one who becomes your disciple is indeed the one who will become your own guru. So tread with caution. Do not become established in the state as a guru.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf one finds a single fault of the guru, then the flow of knowledge stops. The disciple is actually an admirer of the guru, he would keep following as per the directives of the guru.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe one who never forgets the distinction between a guru and a disciple, floats across [the ocean of worldly life]. The one who forgets even for a moment that, ‘I am a disciple and he is a guru,’ falls [spiritually]. And the one who never forgets ‘I am a disciple,’ he floats!
