The Lord has said, “What should a person do so as to attain moksha (ultimate liberation)? If he attains samkit (the right belief of ‘I am pure Soul’) or if he attains the grace of the Gnani Purush (One who has realized the Self and is able to do the same for others), then he can attain moksha."

If you can get a chance to do the darshan of One who is free of kashay (anger, pride, deceit and greed), then your demerit karma will be washed off just like that! Besides the Gnani Purush, there cannot be any person who is free of kashay.

There are two ways by which the goals of life are determined : If you don't encounter a Gnani Purush (the One who has realized the Self and is able to do the same for others), then you should live in worldly life in such a way that you don't become the cause of misery to anyone. The greatest of all goals to uphold is that no living being should be hurt in the slightest by you. And secondly, if you do happen to directly encounter a Gnani Purush, then you should remain in His satsang (spiritual discourse; company of Self-realized beings). By doing so, all your [spiritual] work will be accomplished. All your [worldly] 'puzzles' will be solved.

If you happen to hurt someone externally, you will start to experience suffering within! Such is the science of the vitaraag Lords (the enlightened Ones who are absolutely free from attachment and abhorrence). If for just one lifetime, you take away the miseries of others, it will make up for the losses incurred over infinite lifetimes!

We should definitely be able to adjust our discussion to the opposite person. If we cannot adjust our discussion to the opposite person, then that is our own mistake. It is not our own mistake in its entirety, but it is our mistake to some extent. If that mistake is destroyed, then the adjustment will be possible. The discussions of the vitaraag Lords are about adjusting everywhere.

As a matter of fact, the unfolding karma changes for everyone. To prevail in a state of equanimity amidst the unfolding karma, that is the duty of the Gnanis (the Ones who have realized the Self).

Not having the slightest of contempt towards a nimit (a living or non-living entity that is instrumental in the unfolding of your karma) is dharmadhyan (a virtuous internal state of being that prevents one from hurting the self and others).

Demerit (paap) karma and merit (punya) karma, what are they? God resides within every living being in worldly life, therefore never have even the slightest intent to hurt any living being. Otherwise, as a result of that engaging in that fault, demerit karma will be bound. On the other hand, if you give the slightest of happiness to any living being, or you have the slightest intent to give happiness to any living being, then as a result of giving happiness to the God within, you will bind merit karma.

'‘No living being can interfere in another living being even in the slightest!’ If anyone comes to understand this siddhant (incontrovertible principle that accomplishes the ultimate goal), then he will himself become swatantra (independent as the Self; subject to the Self alone)!

A [true] intellectual is one who ensures that not only is no harm done to others, but neither is the slightest of harm done to himself.
