From time immemorial, people have formed and bound opinions. This is precisely why the mind has come into existence. Thoughts such as ‘this is good’, ‘that is bad’, ‘these people are useless’, ‘it is worth making money’; all these different types of opinions are formed and are the fundamental reason why the mind has come into existence. If we stop forming opinions, then the mind would stop. The mind is nothing else - it exists entirely because we form and bind opinions.
In contrast, what was Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan’s mind like? Mind did not stand still, not even for a single moment, thus He remained constantly free. Even the mind could not bind Him. In comparison, our mind is like a fly that swarms and wanders around sugar for a few minutes to a few hours. He is free from the bondage of mind.
However, we are bound by our mind. If, late at night, we have a thought about work and it bothers us, then the mind will keep us awake until midnight. Just as Param Pujya Dadashri was freed from these tubers of the mind, similarly we can be freed from them too through His knowledge of the Self.
